After being permanently removed from the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), former central organizer Muntasir Mahmud has made sharp allegations against the party’s student advisers.
In a Facebook post, he demanded that these student advisers must be prevented from leaving the country under any circumstances. He urged the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Dr. Yunus to immediately impose a travel ban on them.
Earlier, on Friday (14 November) around midnight, Muntasir went live on Facebook and claimed that the student advisers had “sold out” the country’s July situation.
According to him, among all the advisers, the student advisers were involved in the highest level of corruption.
Muntasir, who was permanently dismissed from the NCP, added that after August 5, anyone who approached an adviser with complaints or problems was told to speak to the student adviser first. Only if the student adviser approved would a meeting be arranged. He claimed they enjoyed absolute power.
He further alleged that the student advisers influenced everything from transferring DCs and OCs to appointing managing directors at Essential Drugs and Petrobangla. He claimed they handled transactions worth hundreds of crores of taka and betrayed both July’s movement and the people of Bangladesh.
The day after his removal from the NCP, Muntasir accused adviser Mahfuz Alam’s elder brother, Mahbub Alam, of corruption. He has now brought fresh allegations against Akhtar Hossain as well.
